What We Do
Aiming to inspire high school FIRST Robotics Competition teams, Big Sky Robotics designs, builds, and documents the production of an industrial-sized competition-worthy robot in 72 straight hours.
Throughout the rest of the year, along with technical trainings, BSR participates in community outreach and volunteer opportunities to encourage STEM education throughout Gallatin County, Montana.

History of our Team
Big Sky Robotics was formed in May of 2022 by a group of Montana State University FIRST Robotics alumni turned engineering and computer science students. BSR participated in their first Ri3D season in 2023, building a robot for the FIRST Energize: Charged Up game. They named their inaugural robot Summit, largely paying homage to the mountains the team is surrounded by in Bozeman, Montana, and signifying a successful rookie season despite the challenges posed by starting a robotics student organization from scratch.
